“Whipped coffee” is the latest trend to take over the coffee world as people are whipping up this caffeinated creation during their extra time at home amid the coronavirus outbreak.
When it comes to coffee, people are pretty particular with their preferences. Some like their cup of joe black, while at the other end of the spectrum, some will settle for nothing less than the latest barista-inspired coffee concoction. The latest trend in java consumption is whipped coffee, also known as dalgona coffee.
For the uninitiated: Whipped coffee is made by mixing instant coffee with sugar and water and then spooning it over milk.
The basic recipe is simple: Mix together two tablespoons each of instant coffee, sugar and hot water. Then use a hand mixer or frother to create that creamy topping for the milk of your choice. Scoop your foamy mixture onto the milk — iced or hot — and voila, you have a whipped coffee!
Now that is one pretty drink! You can make it hot or iced, and feel free to use the dairy milk or milk alternative of your choice. Just like your favorite caffeinated beverage at Starbucks, the options for customization are endless.
